A Wedding at Mildale Farm | Edgerton, KS

When I think of Mildale Farm, I think of wide-open skies, peaceful stillness, and the kind of scenery that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. Tucked just outside Kansas City, this venue brings together rustic warmth and refined beauty in a way that few locations can.

Darrick & Kayla chose Mildale Farm because it felt like them: laid-back, surrounded by nature, and full of little pockets of magic. Their ceremony took place in the indoor ceremony facility, with soft music playing and guests tearing up before the bride even walked down the aisle. And when she did? Let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in sight (including mine).

There is also an option to get married outside underneath the trees, just outside of the getting ready home.

The reception in the barn was the kind of cozy that makes you feel like you’re celebrating in your best friend’s backyard, but with fairy lights, a fire pit, and some seriously stunning floral installations. The speeches echoed with joy, and every toast reminded me how precious it is to be part of these moments.

We snuck out at sunset to capture a few golden-hour portraits in the tall grass, and those frames are some of my favorites. Natural, soft, just the two of them soaking in their new forever.
